Letter To The Editor: Spirit Warrior Ginger Shoji

The Spirit warriors are a Kamloops breast cancer dragon boat team comprised of 29 paddlers of all ages and athletic-ability. Through exercise it is proven to help with the physical by stimulating the lymphatic system, which eradicates

Lymphedema. It is also a great emotional and mental process of recovery as well as support, friendship and fun.

Our mission is to show our community that there is a full, rich and fulfilling life after cancer. This enables us to be strong role models for others with breast cancer. Especially those newly diagnosed.

As a breast cancer survivor team, we compete in several festivals locally, provincially and internationally. We have registered to represent Kamloops, Revelstoke, British Columbia and Canada in the International Breast Cancer Dragon Boat Festival in Florence, Italy this July 3rd to 8 th 2018.

We are trying to raise enough funds to allow everyone the opportunity. I am the only representative of Revelstoke on our team, so I need to do my part.

To raise money I will be asking people to fund my walk to Italy. To date I have walked the entire distance of the TransCanada Highway from coast to coast. 7,821K. From St. Johns Newfoundland to Florence Italy there is only 1,058 K left

for me to walk without leaving Revelstoke. I must complete my virtual journey by June 30th. For every $5 donated supporters will receive a thank you cookie in the shape of a heart with a bra decoration. There will be only 500 cookies in total.

If you are in the position to help with generating funds for this venture, it would be greatly appreciated! You may email your donation to gggshoji@hotmail.com or make a donation and pick up your cookie(s) at Big Mountain Kitchen, Conversations Coffee house, Pure Image, Salon Safari & Academy and Rough Country Marina.

LET THE SECURITY QUESTION BE… What decoration is on my cookies?
