Theatrical opportunities for the thespian-minded

Ho! Ho! Ho!
There are only 74 more sleeps until opening night for the Revelstoke Theatre Company’s performance of Dear Santa.

The cast has been picked and now the Revelstoke Theatre Company is seeking some backstage elves to fulfill the tasks that need to be taken care of!

You — Yes, you! — could be one!

A statement from the acting troupe said here will be a production team meeting on Thursday, October 3, at 7:30 pm, in McKenzie’s at Powder Springs Inn.

“We need current production team members to attend,” the statement said. “But we still need help in several areas, so anyone who is interested in helping with anything like sets, costumes, props, backstage please attend too. We’d be happy to see you!

“Don’t ho-ho-hold back, you know you want to help!”

The Loose Moose Theatre Company is coming to town early next month and will be offering two FREE workshops on basic improvisation skills and training techniques.

A Youth (under 18) Improvisation Workshop
is to be held on Saturday, October 5  from 12:30 until 2:30 pm. The workshop is free but participants are encouraged to send an RSVP to revelstoketheatre@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

An Adult (over 18) Improvisation Workshop
is to be held on Saturday, October 5 from 3 until 5pm . The workshop is free but participants are encouraged to send an RSVP to revelstoketheatre@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

On a different note, the Loose Moose Theatre Company is also staging one of its fast-paced comedy performances where its performers base improvised scenes on information taken from the audience. Just as no two audiences are alike, no two Impro Shows are ever alike. This is improvised comedy deluxe!

Tickets are $10 and available from the Chamber of Commerce, ArtFirst! in downtown Revelstoke or click here to order them online.

The Loose Moose Theatre Company, was formed in Calgary in 1977, has an international reputation for innovation and excellence in improvisational theatre. Techniques for training and presenting improvisation which have been created by co-founder and former Artistic Director Keith Johnstone, and developed at Loose Moose are currently used worldwide. The Loose Moose also acts as a training centre for individuals interested in improvisational theatre, and we are very proud of our many alumni that are now working in the areas of film, television, and stage.
