While investigating a report of a stolen Honda CRV on Sunday morning, Revelstoke RCMP recovered a white Chevrolet Aveo that had been stolen in Calgary.
They also recovered a rear licence plate stolen from a red Hyundai Santa Fe belonging to Revelstoke Current owner David Rooney. The plate had been affixed to the stolen Aveo, which the thief or thieves had abandoned here.
Whoever stole the CRV and stole Rooney’s licence plate may also have rummaged through some unlocked vehicles on CPR Hill looking for car keys stashed inside vehicle glove compartments.
The Revelstoke RCMP would like to remind vehicle owners to ensure that their vehicles and possessions are securely locked and to report any suspicious activity to the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
