Yet another person — this time a local resident — found out the hard way why venturing out of bounds at Revelstoke Mountain Resort is bad idea.
A statement from the local RCMP said a 21-year-old man “had a significant fall” while snowboarding out of bounds at 12:35 pm on Tuesday, January 28, and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
“Fortunately he was able to use his cellular telephone to call for help,” Cpl. Thomas Blakney said in the statement.
“Search and Rescue, Revelstoke Mountain Resort, BC Ambulance Service and the Revelstoke RCMP assisted in the rescue. A long line was required and the snowboarder was air-lifted by the BC Ambulance Critical Care Helicopter to Kamloops Trauma Centre in stable condition.”
Blakney said ignoring the clearly posted out-of-bounds signs at RMR can lead to injury or death.
