Dear Santa
December 6-7 at 8 pm, December 8 at 2 pm and December 12-14 at 8 pm
The Revelstoke Theatre Company is performing the delightful Norm Foster play, Dear Santa. This is a family event and while it is child-friendly it may not be appropriate for very young children. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. The RTC is offering a family-pricing package — buy three tickets get one free.

Christmas Seasonal Sounds
Sunday, December 15, 2 pm
Revelstoke’s very own Community Band is back with more seasonal celebrations. With a Christmas theme this will be a festive occasion not to be missed. This is a family event geared for all ages. Come out and enjoy, it’ll be ‘Like Christmas for Your Ears.”

B3 Kings
Thursday, December 19, 7:30 pm
The B3 KINGS were formed in 2002 for a Christmas concert at The Cellar Restaurant / Jazz Club in Vancouver. The show was such a huge success the concert became an annual event.
Their concerts are eagerly anticipated every year and sell out welll in advance. In 2004, the B3 Kings went into the studio to record their first Christmas album. The funky quartet shared the bill with pianist Bruno Hubert Trio and produced A Cellar Live Christmas. The album has received rave reviews around the world. Jazzreview.com called it “one of the greatest Christmas recordings ever.”
The quartet is anchored by Canadian vocal sensation Denzal Sinclaire. Sinclaire also doubles as the drummer for this band. Denzal is known internationally as a jazz star and has had his praises sung by the likes of Diana Krall and Cassandra Wilson. Hammond B3 Organist Chris Gestrin is responsible for making this group as funky as it is with his wicked organ grooves and creative arrangements of the Christmas classics. Saxophonist Cory Weeds is perhaps best known for his work with the great Dr. Lonnie Smith and brings an unbridled enthusiasm to playing the saxophone. Guitarist Bill Coon is as funky as they come but brings with him a wonderful jazz sensibility that really completes the quartet.

Joanne Stacey’s Christmas Recital
Friday, December 20
Joanne Stacey’s fantastic students will put you in the mood for Christmas as they fill the Performing Arts Centre with the Sounds of Christmas. The doors open at 6:30 pm and the performance begins at 7.
Entry is by $5 donation per person at the door. Families of 4 or more — $20.

The 2nd Annual Revelstoke Coffee House Fundraiser Extravaganza Hootenanny
Saturday, December 28, 7:30 pm
The Revelstoke Coffee House is Revelstoke’s de facto monthly music event celebrating local talent and acoustic music. Join them for their second annual fundraiser featuring the old-time/folk group, Birchbark, as well as the The Sumner Brothers from Vancouver. The evening will also be filled with short performances from an assortment of locals and other great surprises. Come one, come all!
Tickets are $15 and are available at Valhalla Pure. Coffee and treats will be served. Performances are by invite only. There will also be a 50/50 Draw and Chicken Toss!

Dave Gunning

There are stories that wash over you like a tide, and then there are stories that grab you by the heart. Dave Gunning has made a point of finding the latter and wrapping them up in song since he broke upon the East Coast music scene in Canada back in 1997. The Pictou County, Nova Scotia-born-and-bred singer-songwriter and working class hero has climbed from humble beginnings to a point where his name is regularly included in conversation with artists such as David Francey, James Keelaghan, Ron Hynes, Stan Rogers, Bruce Cockburn and Gordon Lightfoot. Writing from a sonic menu that includes flavors of Irish, Scottish, French Acadian, folk and country musical styles, Dave transcends genre with songs that fill your senses and touch your soul. Craig Cardiff

Songwriter, troubadour, Craig Cardiff builds landscapes of sound using live digital loops, bringing the room to a hush. Edged, folk, beautiful, melancholy and left-leaning, one song will break your heart while the next one will put it back together.
Craig Cardiff is a Canadian singer-songwriter who is beginning to develop a following throughout North America, and in parts of Europe. With guitar in hand, Craig can turn any setting into an intimate affair, infusing his music and lyrics with an uncompromising humanism that is rarely seen in today’s production heavy climate.
He makes it a point to keep the relationship with his fans personal, inviting and accepting any opportunity to make his audience as much a part of the performance as he is. Don’t be surprised if one day you find yourself enjoying one of Craig’s renowned performances from the comfort of your own living room.
