The Revelstoke Grizzlies have teamed up with the Bantam Grizzlies and the Community Connections Food Bank to have a fun game that will benefit the food bank this holiday season.
The teams are going head to head on Tuesday, December 10, at the Forum starting at 6:30 pm.
Admission is by donation to the food bank.

Revelstoke’s next Homecoming has been set for August 15 to 17, 2014.
If the last Homecoming, held in 2009, is anything to go by this event will really be something. That Homecoming featured a parade, art, photography and quilt shows, special reunions, great food, concerts and dancing at Grizzly Plaza,

Interior Health is advising Nakusp and area residents that local public health nursing services are moving to Arrow Lakes Hospital.
The public health nursing office, currently located in the Nakusp Health Unit at 611 Broadway St., will be closed as of 5 pm on Friday, November 29. The new public health nursing office at the hospital will open on December 17.
Residents who need to speak to a public health nurse during the transition period to the new location should contact the Kootenay Boundary toll-free public health line at 1-877-221-3388.
Moving public health services to Arrow Lakes Hospital will bring all community-based services under one roof and will maintain easy access to the same public health nursing services.
When the new office at Arrow Lakes Hospital opens on December 17, public health nursing hours will remain 8 am to noon and 1 pm to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. The local phone number to speak to a public health nurse will remain 250-265-3608.

The Rotary Club will be up at RMR on Sunday, December 1, serving a pancake breakfast from 8 am until 9:30 am. You can score a plate of flapjacks by making a donation to raise funds and awareness of the adaptive ski program the club has started.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC will be holding a door-to-door canvas throughout the city in February.
“Traditionally, February is proclaimed Heart Month in Canada,” the foundation said in a letter to City Council. “During this month we engage in several fund raising efforts including the door-to-door canvass. The Heart and Stroke Foundation uses these funds to support cardiovascular health through public education, continuing research programs, and advocacy for public health policies.”

Ten building permits for $360,000 worth of construction were issued in October.
That brings the total value of permits issued this past year to $10.8 million. By this same time last year the City had issued $9.9 million worth of permits.

The province is conducting a province-wide consultation and engagement to seek input about safety and speed limits on B.C.’s rural highways as part of the Rural Highway Safety and Speed Review from November 29 until January 24.
Public input, along with information gained through the technical review of provincial highways, will be used to identify and prioritize proposed highway and safety improvements.
There is no open house in Revelstoke, however, you can attend open house in Kamloops on December 3 from 5 until 8 pm at the Coast Kamloops Hotel at 1250 Rogers Way or in Kelowna on December 4 on December 4 from 5 until 8 at the Ramada Inn at 2170 Harvey Avenue.
