The scale model of the city’s historic Provincial Court House constructed entirely of gingerbread, chocolate, icing and candy window panes even has interior lighting but no plumbing. Still, that shouldn’t discourage anyone from making a bid to own it.

This eminently edible structure took Craig T. Brown, Community Connections’ executive director, 35 hours to create.

“We’re using it to promote Community Connections,” Brown said on Tuesday, November 26.

And all it will take to become yours is quickly surfing the Web to Community Connections’ Facebook page and clicking the “like” button. If you already “like” it then you are automatically entered into the draw for this delicious treat. But if you haven’t liked it yet, you should click here to go to the agency’s Facebook page and hit the “like” button. As of 5:24 pm on November 26 the page had 180.

Craig, who builds a gingerbread house every year, said one person will be randomly drawn from the total number of likes on December 13 when the CPR Holiday Train rolls into town.

“It’s something I enjoy doing,” he said, “but it’s designed to be eaten.”
