Atom Grizzlies win their tournament

The Revelstoke Atom Grizzlies won their own three-day tournament on Sunday during a real nail-biter of a finals match against Windermere.

Windermere young players proved to be tough, skilled competitors, especially during the second and third periods when they tied the Grizzlies twice, 2-2 and 3-3 before the Grizzlies got their go-ahead goal late in the third period.

Here are a couple of photos from the game:

The Atom Grizzlies roared with unbridled enthusiasm after they were presented with the Cooper's Cup, a newly made copy of its much bigger cousin, the Stanley Cup. The cup will always reside in the History of Hockey exhibit at the Revelstoke Forum even if it is won by a team from out of town. David F. Rooney photo
