Hail to a new Knight of Pythias and farewell to a long-time Knight

The Knights of Pythias held a dinner at Emo's on Monday, October 7, to welcome a new member to the their Lodge: Ray Cooper. They also said farewell to 97-year-old member Whitt Vernon (center right) who is leaving town after more than 50 years as a Knight.. Whitt's long-time friend Bill Straga is on the right and the lodge's Grand Chancellor, Kevin Coulter is on the left. The Knights do good work in our community and are always willing to use the revenue from their Thursday night Bingos to underwrite the activities of other non-profit groups. David F. Rooney photo
