It’s hard to beat McHappy Day and all the folks who help make it happen. Here in Revelstoke, local Mounties, news media reps, business people, bankers and other all kicked in their time to don aprons and help out behind the counter at McDonalds on Wednesday.
“Together, we raised $5030.13 on McHappy Day,” said Cathy Blakely in an e-mail to The Current on Thursday. “This will go towards building the new and bigger, Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver. Thanks for coming out again this year!”
McHappy Day is always a bit of a hoot. You get to wear an apron, smile a lot and help raise money by selling people small inexpensive items like sticky note cases and crazy straws — boy, those crazy straws were popular. I enjoy it and I don;t know anyone who hasn’t grinned their way through their one-hour shift at McDonalds.
