Anything Goes 3 exhibition and silent auction was a huge success
The Visual Arts Centre’s Anything Goes 3 exhibition and silent auction was a huge success on Friday night with 140 people coming to socialize and bid on 47 works of art by 45 local artists.
Jackie Pendergast, The Centre’s executive director, said a total of $2,757.50 was collected in bids. 19 artists donated 100% of the successful bids on their work to The Centre and the rest donated 50%.
This fundraiser was aimed at helping The Centre replace its aging carpets with new composite flooring.
“The profit to the gallery flooring project was $1,945 plus donations received of $240 which makes a total of $2,225 for the evening —
a fabulous amount and we have yet too add the profit from the bar,” Jackie said. “Thank you to all the artists for creating the work and helping to make the event another great success!”
