Okanagan College is holding two days of Anti-discrimination Response Training on Nov. 18 and 19. The training workshops will be run by Dr. Ishu Ishiyama of UBC and Angela Brown, an anti-racism consultant for the Vancouver School Board.
The Nov. 18 session will be at the Community Centre starting at 7 pm. The two-hour session is open to anyone who would like to learn more about how to respond to racist or discriminatory comments and practices. Just drop on by to participate.
On Nov. 19 there will be two, more specialized sessions. One, led by Brown, will be at the School District 19 board office for teachers. The other, led by Ishiyama, will be an all-day workshop at the college. People wishing to attend this highly focused workshop must register in advance by calling 250-837-4235.
