Revelstoke Judo Club
This coming Saturday, the Revelstoke Judo Club is hosting a series of exhibition matches, called Randoris in Japanese.
At least five clubs from the Kootenays and Okanagan regions will be attending, including Salmon Arm, Vernon, Kelowna and from as far away as Salmo. Up to 40 participants are expected.
This tournament is aimed at kids six to 16 years of age, and is important because it gives white and yellow belts (those are the newer athletes in each club) a chance to compete in an instructional setting.
More experienced Judokas, include orange, green, and blue belts, will also be competing.
Anyone interested in seeing these matches, learning about the sport or cheering on friends is welcome to pop in at no charge. It’s being held at the Revelstoke Legion, 600 First St W, from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. For more information please contact Rob Serrouya: serrouya@ualberta.ca
