Fine weather for a swift-water rescue exercise 2012-10-30Members of Revelstoke Search and Rescue train to do a lot more than search for missing hikers, skiers and boarders. On Saturday they conducted a swift-water rescue team practice in the Illecillewaet River upstream of the bridge. Six members participated. The goal of the practice was to work on skills such as throw-bagging, live-bait rescue and moving subjects on an extraction line. The team was outfitted with professional search and rescue safety equipment and kept warm with hot drinks.
