Ever since late September’s avalanche at Nepal’s Mount Manaslu journalists, friends, acquaintances and total strangers have wanted to know what it was like to survive that major disaster.
Now adventurer Greg Hill plans to not only tell all, but show it as well with a slides and videos he took during the event that cost nine European, Nepali and Canadian alpinists their lives on September 23.
“I have had tremendous support here at home,” he said in an interview on Tuesday. “But a lot of people are curious. Friends and acquaintances have asked me about it. I’ve even received e-mails from total strangers.”
Plenty of local residents are curious but don’t want to intrude on Hill’s time and thoughts. So he has put together a multi-media presentation that will take people from his first days in Nepal up to Mount Mera and from there to his fateful encampment on Manaslu.
There will be a Q and A, as well as a presentation of Frank Desrosier’s 2010 film, Two Million Reasons, which cover’s Hill’s epic ski 2010 adventure.
“It seemed like a perfect idea to combine the two,” Greg said, adding that the entire show at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre will likely take about 90 minutes. Click here for more information about the show.
