City, BC Transit seek YOUR input on local bus service

If you think transit service in Revelstoke can be improved you should attend next Thursday’s open house about the future of our public transportation service.

The October 4 open house at the Community Centre runs from 3 pm until 7 pm and municipal and BC Transit officials will be on hand to answer any and all questions about the service.

For some people, especially seniors, this is a critical service, as was demonstrated on Tuesday when a half dozen seniors visited the office of Community Economic Development Director Alan Mason’s office to register their displeasure with the state of the public bus service.

The ladies told him they want the service improved and sought assurances that the existing buses would be fixed.

The City is currently planning on acquiring two new buses form BC Transit and adjusting the scheduled service to provide more efficient service.

Mason encouraged the ladies to attend the meeting and assured them free transportation to the open house would be provided. Free transportation can be arranged by calling 250-837-3888.

Coffee and snacks will be provided

People who are unable o attend the open house in person, you can fill out a survey online at www.bctransit.com/transitfuture by October 4.
