This is NOT a pothole, but its evil cousin — a sinkhole, which has forced the closure of Airport Way at Nichol Road. Local traffic is being allowed through as far as 2315 Airport Way (the corner just before Williamsons Lake), but all other vehicles will have to detour up Nichol and along Camozzi through Revelstoke Mountain Resort and then down Westerberg Road to Airport Way. Duration of this closure at present is unknown. But the sinkhole is about 20 feet deep and has undermined the roadway. Should you have any questions or concerns please call Public Works 250-837-2001.
