The funeral for Brian Mallett, the City’s director of Engineering and Public Works, will be held on Friday, May 11, at the United Church at 1 pm, Mayor David Raven said Tuesday.
Speaking at Council, Raven expressed the sorrow that has gripped City Hall since Mallett died suddenly on Sunday.
As a mark of respect, all City offices will be closed at noon on Friday and will not reopen until Monday morning, the mayor said.
Mallett was extremely well-liked and well-respected within the municipal organization when he collapsed and died at his home on Sunday evening.
He leaves behind his wife, Colleen, and their two sons, Mackenzie and Hayden.
