Shan Jorgenson-Adam, one of the most popular principals employed by School District 19 has been appointed to become the first principal of the new — and as-yet un-named — elementary school.
“Based on Shan’s previous eight years of service in the district, at both Columbia Park and Mount Begbie Elementary Schools and her extensive knowledge and skills in elementary education, we are confident that Shan will excel in this assignment,” Superintendent Ann Cooper said in a statement released late Tuesday.
“Shan returns to our school district from her position in Alberta as Director of Instructional Services where she focused on literacy and numeracy initiatives, assessment and reporting, coordination of school improvement and aboriginal programs and services.”
