The Revelstoke Arts Council has unveiled a brand-new website that is a first-rate improvement over its old one. Besides more images and information about current and upcoming events. It includes an electronic Box Office that permits people to purchase tickets in advance to concerts, plays and other artistic happenings.
The website was created by Tennille Barber of Revelstoke Computer Wiz. She is the creator of other local websites including Revelstoke Community Connections and the Revelstoke Spirit Festival. Content for the website was created by local writer John Devitt who looked at the old website and worked with members and board of directors to finalize up-to-date content.
Arts Council Chairwoman Carol Palladino was very pleased with the new website.
“This website is colourful and vibrant just like our arts and cultural community,” she said. “Everyone will be able to see videos, dates and times of our many activities that are going on throughout the year. We are most excited to have an online box office for ticket purchases to our events.”
Palladino is correct about that. There are a number of characteristics that all first-rate websites share:
- Their design is simple and straightforward but eye-catching, attractive and inviting;
- They have real content — both images and text — that is likely to be of use to website users; and
- They are very easy navigate.
