Adelheid Bender back in the saddle as Chamber director — for now anyway

Adelheid Bender — Interim Executive Director of the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce

Adelheid Bemder, one-time executive diretor of the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce has been re-appointed to that position on an interim basis, replacing John Devitt who was eased out of that post in August.

“Adelheid is a seasoned executive, whose career has included 25 years with the University of Waterloo, 10 years with the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce and six years as the Economic Development Officer for the Shuswap with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District managing economic development, tourism marketing and the film commission, Chamber President Brydon Roe said earlier this week.

“As Executive Director of the Revelstoke Chamber of Commerce, Adelheid was heavily involved with the BC Chamber Executive (BCCE) organization.  She was on their Board of Directors for eight years and in the fall of 2001 she was elected president of that organization.  In 2002 she was given the honour of being voted as the Executive of the Year for the province of British Columbia by BCCE.”

Roe said having Adelheid in place will give the Chamber the confidence it needs as it continues its search for a full-time executive idrector, Roe said.
