In April, a fair amount of controversy was generated by suggestions that Queen Elizabeth Park could become the home for a new skateboard and pump track park.
At the time, City Council denied that Queen E Park was being seriously considered as a location for these athletic facilities. But doubts li ngered. Now the air could be cleared regarding their real potential locations..
Tomorrow, the City is holding an open house at the Community Centre at 7 pm to discuss options for a new skateboard park and pump track – either together or separately.
Among the issues — besides their potential locations — are costs, parking, washrooms, Snow storage, compatible uses – i.e. other playgrounds and ball fields — and security.
The two active recreation groups seeking public feedback regarding location options will make public presentations and the options will be discussed.
