Alan Blane Pounder passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the age of 43 years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Revelstoke United Church on Thursday afternoon, March 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ken Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a trust fund for Blane’s daughter Shantana c/o Revelstoke Credit Union.
Blane was born in Kamloops, B.C. on June 28, 1967, and had been a resident of Revelstoke for a few years, working as an engineer for C.P. Rail. Blane was an avid hockey fan, especially for the Montreal Canadiens. He loved the outdoors as well as rollerblading and biking. Blane was a very humorous man who loved to joke around. The most important part of Blane’s life was his daughter Shantana and he loved to spend time with her.
Blane was predeceased by his mother Donna. He is survived by his daughter Shantana of Revelstoke; his father Verne (Linda) of Kamloops; two sisters: Nadine (Todd) of Armstrong and Jennifer (Brad) of Mission; two brothers: Trevor of 100 Mile House and Mike (Heather) of Mission as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
