Elsie Mary Munroe died suddenly at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the age of 85 years.
A memorial service will be held from the Fellowship Baptist Church, Revelstoke on Monday, March 14th, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Eby officiating.
Elsie was born on September 17, 1925 in Estevan, Saskatchewan and moved with her family west to Creston and then onto Craigellachie and finally ending up in Revelstoke in the early 1940’s. Elsie really enjoyed living in Revelstoke and the lifestyle that it offered. She enjoyed walking and gardening and loved music. She enjoyed going to many fairs over the years and loved spending time with her family. Elsie loved her family and especially enjoyed her time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her dog, Elliott. Many of Elsie’s friends will remember her dedication and support to her TOP’s group for a number of years.
Elsie was predeceased by her daughter Gail Mead in 1973, son, Ken Munroe in 1997, her husband Stanley in 2003 and her brother, Herman. She is survived by three children: Gloria (Harley) Vannan of Whistler, Raymond Munroe of Golden, Norman (Angie) Munroe of Revelstoke; daughter-in-law, Debbie Munroe of Revelstoke; seven grandchildren: Shanon, Murray, Daphne, Robbie, Larissa, Mike and Mark; five great grandchildren: Lance, Carah, Selina, Elliott and Brook; one sister Minnie Rachotte of Watson Lake and brother-in-law, Richard (Val) Munroe of Revelstoke.
