Columbia Basin residents and groups wishing to help maintain or enhance environmental conditions in and around their communities are invited to submit innovative project ideas to the Environmental Initiatives Program (EIP) of Columbia Basin Trust (CBT).
The application deadline is March 18.
“Last year, the Environmental Initiatives Program was able to support 51 projects that are making a difference in Basin communities,” Rick Allen, CBT Program Manager, Environment said in a statement.
“We hope this year’s increased budget of $690,000 will allow CBT to be even more effective in helping environmental projects across the Basin come to fruition.”
The EIP includes a small grants stream, geared for projects under $10,000 (increased from $5,000 in 2010/11) and a large grants stream for projects up to $20,000.

The deadline for submitting an application is 3:30 p.m. PDT/4:30 p.m. MDT, March 18, 2011. Applicants must submit BOTH an application electronically to eip@cbt.org and deliver an original, signed hard copy to any CBT office. Applications should clearly be labelled “Environmental Initiatives Granting Program.”
