Looking for a different kind of counter? Mark McKee at Telus may have just what you need. This countertop has blue jeans, money, tokens, buttons and other doodads — even a plastic spider — embedded in its acrylic surface. McKee designed the counter in 2003 and built it with help from friends Denny Kaulback and Scott Renaud. "It's a great counter and terrific conversation piece," he said. Despite the memories embedded in its surface, McKee needs to alter his Telus store space, hence the decision to give the counter away to anyone who will give it a great home.
