Late in the day of Friday February 16th, 2018 the Revelstoke RCMP received a report of a missing male. The missing male was noted to be Michael Foster, of Airdrie, Alberta.
Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol commenced a search of the resort all day on Saturday February 17th. Revelstoke Search and Rescue deployed resources and searched beyond the resort boundaries. At approximately 4:45 pm on Saturday February 17th, members of the Revelstoke Search and Rescue team located the male, deceased. Mr. Foster was located in the Greely Creek drainage north-east of the ski resort.
The Revelstoke RCMP wish to thank the Revelstoke Mountain Resort Ski Patrol and the Revelstoke Search and Rescue team for their continued dedication in locating missing persons.
The Revelstoke RCMP are assisting the BC Coroner Service in the investigation into Mr. FOSTER’s death.
The RCMP remind those using the back country to be prepared, and always carry extra food, water and a communication device. It is advisable to travel with others and to always notify a responsible person as to your expected time of return.
