Selkirk Saddle Club Membership Is Doing Well!

The Selkirk Saddle Club is such a unique opportunity for those interested in becoming an equestrian. Not every community has a beautiful piece of land where they can get out and ride, let alone find a place to stable the a horse. The SSC has been growing over the years, and it is doing quite well.

The Selkirk Saddle Club(SSC) is getting all riled up for the 9th Annual Revy Stomp, Saturday January 20th 8pm – 1am. This is one of the Selkirk Saddle Club’s biggest fundraisers, and gives everyone a chance to dust off their boots and hats, and bust out their inner cowboy. Although his event has become one of Revelstoke staple events, along aside the Rod and Gun Club Dinner Banquet and the Chamber Awards gala, it was originally intended to raise funds for an indoor riding area.

The SCC Vice-President, Ron Glave told the Revelstoke Current, “We have completed the indoor riding arena, thanks to the support of the community through this event along with business sponsors. We have also been able to complete other valuable projects such as new outdoor riding arena fencing, the purchase of a riding lawn mower, a round horse training pen, multi purpose tractor, quad, and harrow in support of our growing (40+) member Saddle Club.”

The event is an annual local favourite often selling out the available 275 tickets weeks in advance of the event with this year as no exception. Tickets as of early this week, were sold out.
