A missing skier was reported of bounds overnight from Revelstoke Mountain Resort was located just prior to 9 am on Monday December 11, 2017 by the Revelstoke Search and Rescue team. The skier although cold, is in fine condition.
In the afternoon of Sunday December 10, 2017 the Revelstoke RCMP received a call reporting a missing male skier, Joseph Stelcasky (41), was last seen at Revelstoke Mountain Resort at 1 pm prior to attempting to ski the “Brown Shorts” run.
Revelstoke Search and Rescue are deployed a team and helicopter at first light this morning, Monday December 11.
The Revelstoke RCMP takes this time to remind back-country or out of bound skiers to ski with others, be prepared to spend the night, have a cell phone and save the battery, as well as carry a flashlight, extra food and water, and tell others where you are going.
