The Revelstoke Credit Union marked its Annual General Meeting on Tuesday evening, April 11, by donating $100,000 to local community groups, including $48,500 for five capital projects.

Then Credit Union also gave $51,500 to support 30 smaller projects from local non-profit organizations. Please click here to see the list of groups and the projects the credit union is supporting.
The Credit Union also donated $100,000 to the District Health Foundation’s Helipad Project, $5,737.50 to send 10 local youths to the YES Camp, an exceptional leadership camp for young people, $21,175 to a variety of financial assistance requests made CEO Roberta Bobicki’s CEO Discretionary Donation Program, and $2,750 to the Fred Olynyk Bursary. In addition, the RCU realized retained earnings of $533,233 so the board of directors increased funding to the Member Rewards and Community Giving programs. What’s more, Credit Union staff gave 3,000 hours of their personal time to assist a number of different, projects, clubs and committees.
In addition, the members who attended the AGM were told that Bruce Granstrom and Chandra Kerry had been elected to sit on the board of directors.
With 4,800 members, over 55 employees, $175 million in assets and a general insurance and wealth subsidiary, Revelstoke Credit Union has contributed almost $6 million of profit directly back to its members and the community over the past 17 years.
