Revelstoke Search and Rescue (SAR) and Emergency Health Services (EHS) were activated to attend to the scene of a snowmobile accident on Boulder Mountain on Frifzy evening, March 3, at 8:45 pm.
A statement from RCMP Cpl. Thomas Blakney said a 51-year-old man from Fort St. John, BC, went over was operating a snowmobile when he went over the edge of s cliff just before a bridge, landing in the creek bank, approximately 20 feet below.
“Fortunately the male did not go into the water and fellow sledders acted swiftly to ensure he was safe and rendered First-Aid until SAR arrived along with two paramedics,” the statement said.
The man was transported down the mountain by the use of SAR’S ‘side by side’ sled and was then taken by ambulance to Queen Victoria Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
