The Fish & Wildlife Compensation Program (FWCP) is seeking a new board member to join its Columbia Region to help conserve and enhance local fish and wildlife.
“We are looking for a public representative to join our 10-member board, for a three-year term,” Columbia Region Manager Crystal Klym said in a statement. “Volunteer candidates should support our vision of thriving fish and wildlife populations in watersheds that are functioning and sustainable.”
Board members review and approve funding for all FWCP fish and wildlife projects in the region, and support planning and project delivery. This year, the Columbia Region Board approved $5.8 million for 55 fish and wildlife projects underway now to conserve and enhance fish and wildlife impacted by BC Hydro dams.
“We have a committed, passionate board that works closely with our technical committees to ensure projects we fund are in alignment with our Action Plans and reflect regional priorities,” board co-chair John Krebs said in the statement.
