The Royal Canadian Legion’s Branch 46 will not be holding its very popular Meat Draw this coming Saturday, December 24, says Branch President Ed Koski.
Instead, the branch is inviting senior shut-ins to drop by for a couple of hours between 12 and 2 pm for snacks and some live music. What’s more taxis are looked after.

The Helipad Project’s fund-raising thermometer has now hit $350,000 — well on its way to the project’s $465,000 target.
“We need to keep driving to our goal and, in true Revelstoke fashion, I’m sure we will make it,” Said Steve Bender, who is a member of the project’s promotions committee.
“Many thanks to all those who have contributed, the volunteers working on this important fundraising effort and the Revelstoke media.”

The Georgia Straight has the skinny on a plan Everything Revelstoke has to fly people every Thursday and Sunday between Vancouver and Revelstoke, starting on January 26.
Organized by Pacific Coastal Airlines, planes depart from Revelstoke at 3 pm, which means travellers can be back at YVR by 4 pm on the same day.
The Beechcraft 1900 flights cost from $249 to $299 each way. There is also a private jet service for $6,500 each way.
These flights will be on offer until March 19. Flights to Revy will depart from Vancouver South Terminal at 1 pm and arriving in Revelstoke an hour later.
