Connie Brothers is retiring after 35 years as a lawyer.
“… One of the things I have learned over these many years, is that there is a time and a place for everything,” she said in a letter to The Current. “So I am writing to advise that it is my time to retire from Mackenzie Peak Law Group, effective January 1.
“It is a new beginning not only for me, but also for the firm. In order to assure that our quality work continues, a new lawyer, Aimee Schalles, will be taking my place.
Ms. Schalles joined the firm on October 17, which makes for “a seamless transition.”
Brothers said Ms. Schalles is from a small town in Saskatchewan and has been practicing law in a large firm in Vancouver. She and her husband, Brad, who is a guide with Mica Heliskiing, are moving to Revelstoke to take up permanent residence and become part of our community.
Meanwhile, Alicia Joiner, who has been associated with Brothers for the past three years, will continue as a lawyer with the firm. Mandy Leonard, as well, will continue her long-standing work as the firm’s legal assistant.
“There is no doubt that I will miss working with you, as my law practice in Revelstoke has been the most enjoyable and rewarding of my career,” Brothers said. “However, I am looking forward to new endeavours, and I am more than confident that Aimee, Alicia and Mandy will continue to provide you with the dedication and hard work I have strived for.”
