The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is anticipating what may be the best season yet thanks to a new groomer, well groomed trails, and great ski training programs.
The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club is awaiting the arrival of a brand-new groomer, a BR Pinroth 350, that is currently on its way here. Club president Gary Graf says that the new groomer will allow the club to “offer a first-class Nordic experience.” The club purchased the groomer through support from the Revelstoke Tourism Infrastructure Fund, The CSRD Economic Opportunity Fund, club savings, and financing through the Revelstoke Credit Union.
In a statement, He said trail conditions should be excellent. Twenty volunteers spent a weekend brushing the trails. Downie Timber and BC Timber Sales provided machine time to improve trails. The parking lot will also be improved by donations of material by Downie Timber and time by BHEX Contracting.
Ski racers are ready to go after training on land and on snow off season. Two athletes, Elizabeth Elliot and Alana Britton, even travelled for two weeks to Torsby and Solloftea, Sweden. According to Alana “it was an extremely exciting trip where we got to meet some really fast skiers from Sweden and were also able to have some amazing training opportunities.” The club is seeking volunteers to coach the younger set—the “Ski Bunnies.”

About the Nordic Ski Club
The Revelstoke Nordic Ski Club has over 600 members and traces its roots back to 1891. The club maintains a system of groomed Nordic ski trails on Mount Macpherson and offers a ski lodge, 6 kilometres illuminated trail, a newsletter, a Ski League Program for children, dog trails, adult lessons and special events.
Grooming usually starts in late November and ends in late March or early April.
