Saturday’s Street Sale, staged by downtown merchants on Saturday, September 10, was pretty successful as visitors and locals crowded the Farmers’ Market vendors and hustled from stop to store on Mackenzie and down First Street.
All told they had a good time. One can hope there will be a big turnout this coming Saturday, September 18, for the Third Annual Revelstoke Garlic Festival. The festival is Track Street Growers. Track Street Growers’ Sarah Harper and Stuart Smith have teamed up with the Local Food Initiative (LFI) for this year’s festival, which will feature great garlic, live music, a local craft sale, kids’ activities, a scavenger hunt, food, and even a wild game of Chicken Bingo. The festivities run from 11 am until 5 pm. Admission is $ at the gate; kids get I free! Due to limited parking, the LFI recommend you ride bicycles to the event. It also politely requests that your furry friends be left at home.
