New statue officially unwrapped 2016-06-06City Councillor Scott Duke (left) stood in for Mayor Mark McKee as he and sculptor John McKinnon unwrapped Revelstoke’s newest piece of public art, entitled Blowin’ In The Wind. This elegant bronze whirlwind of autumn leaves graces the garden beside the Visual Arts Centre. Duke praised the many local people, including members of the Rotary Club, the NCES, and the Local Food Initiative who have helped renovate the old RCMP detachment building and establish what promise to be magnificent gardens. “This is the centerpiece that John has built,” he said. “It’s incredible!” The ceremony late Friday afternoon, June 3, was very well attended by dozens of people who went on to see the latest exhibitions in the gallery.
