Got a bike you’d like to swap? Yeah? Then come on down to the zamboni entrance at the Forum for the Second Annual Bike Swap on Sunday, May 3.
Registration of bikes and gear for sale takes place from 9:30 to 11 am and the doors open for bike hungry folks at 11. The pick up time is 12:30 top 1:30 pm.
There is a $2 entrance fee and the North Columbia Environmental Society collects a 15% commission on all sales under $1,000 and 10% on everything over $1,000.

The Lake Revelstoke Dragon Boat Society is holding its Annual General Meeting at the Knights of Pythias Hall, located at 201 Third Street West, on Wednesday, May 6, starting at 7:30 pm.
The group’s Dam Survivors is actively seeking new paddlers. If you’d like to get out on the water and paddle their magnificent dragon boat please cone to the meeting.

The federal government is inviting residents of Kootenay Columbia to get involved in the celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation “Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017 is set to be an exceptional year for Canadians and their country,” MP David Wilks said in a statement. “It will be a rare opportunity to reflect and deepen our sense of what it means to be Canadian and inspire a new era of optimism and pride across the country, for a Canada that is Strong, Proud and Free.”
In the lead up to 2017, Canadians are being encouraged to give back to their community and their country in ways that will have a lasting effect on Canadian life for generations to come.
“In a country as vast and diverse as Canada, each of us can contribute something unique and meaningful to this celebration,” Wilks said.

A Bouts de Chou playgroup for Francophone and Francophile parents and children aged 0-5 years will be held this Friday, May 1 from 9:30 to 11 am at Community Connections.
This event gives parents and children opportunity to socialize and have fun in French.
This free combination of games, crafts, songs and stories is held on the first and third Friday of the month (except holidays). A small snack will be served.
