City Council Candidate Trevor English had a rather more exciting evening than most on Tuesday when a man broke into his home on Second Street West when he and his family were there.
“Last night our home was broken into and we confronted the man that did it,” Trevor told The Current on Wednesday, November 12. “He forced in the front door (and ran away when confronted). We called 911 and the RCMP caught him within minutes. We have asked them to press charges but it will be up to the Crown to decide if they will.”
A statement from RCMP Cpl. Thomas Blakney said officers who responded to the 911 call arrested a 30-year-old man from Manitoba. He was charged with two counts of Break-and-Enter and Trespassing. He is to appear in Provincial Court in Salmon Arm on Thursday, November 13.
