Love those Crescendo oils!

Crescendo's Daniel Weber draws some specialty vinegar from a an amphora for Big Mountain Kitchen and Linen proprietor Nicole Cherlet on Friday during the opening of a major display of Cresendo's product line at Nicole's progressive and well-appointed shop on Mackenzie Avenue. Crescendo did have its own store on First Street West but Daniel and his partner, Elvira Bruner, have since moved to Kelowna where they cater to a larger market. Still, it's nice to see that their very high quality oils, vinegars and salts are still available in Revelstoke. David F. Rooney photo

Look, Ma! No blood! Crescendo's Daniel Weber (left) and Big Mountain Kitchen and Linen proprietor Nicole Cherlet watch as Nicole's husband Glenn carefully — But oh so swiftly! — chops carrots for a cooking demonstration at Big Mountain on Friday, October 17. Glenn was so fast with the knife that you had to wonder if he wasn't worried about slicing off a finger. Well, that's actually happened to him. Fortunately, he has had a lot of practice since that long-ago mishap. David F. Rooney photo
