Four excellent arts shows now on at the Visual Arts Centre
By David F. Rooney
There are four excellent art shows on exhibition at the Visual Arts Centre on Wilson Street.
Backyards and Alleys is a lovely members’ show that features local scenes we’re all likely to recognize. Two shows, Images of Golf and Reflections of Social Justice are one-man shows by former Mount Begbie Elementary School Principal Rob Wilson. While Reflections of Social Justice, as you might imagine, a tad rim, Images of Golf is whimsical and amusing. The fourth show, Voices of our Ancestors, is a tribute to native culture and the land and was organized by the Aboriginal Education Committee.
The four shows are on exhibit at the Revelstoke Art Gallery in the Visual Arts Centre, located at 320 Wilson Street behind the Days Inn, until Friday, August 29. The gallery is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday from 12 noon until 4 pm. For more information please contact the gallery at 250-814-0261 or send an e-mail to info@revelstokevisualarts.com.
