In the driver’s seat at the Railway Museum — well a new simulated one, anyway! 2014-06-18Railway Museum Volunteer Don Hawker sits in the driver’s seat of the newly re-built and refurbished locomotive simulator at the Railway Museum as Jonathan Taylor of RST Instruments looks on. Taylor installed the new simulator. According to volunteer George Hopkins, the simulator’s console is a faithful reproduction of the console in use on locomotives when he was training with the CPR back in 1985. The new simulator features new sensors and effects that make it much more realistic than the old one, which was out of commission for the last two years. Give it a try for yourself at the museum!
