A water main break and its subsequent repairs caused some flooding and/or damaged hot water heaters at between 12 and 18 homes in Arrow Heights on Friday, says Darren Komonoski, operations manager for Public Works.
He said he does not yet know what caused the problems and noted that while water use was restricted over the weekend residents are once again free to use water normally.
As for homeowners who experienced flooding or damaged water heaters, “unfortunately, that is a homeowner’s insurance issue.”
