Public art proposals sought by City

The City’s Public Art Committee is seeking fresh new proposals for artworks to mark the west entrance to the newly extended Grizzly Plaza.

The committee had already considered proposals from a number of different artists but rejected them for reasons ranging from their high cost to their design.

The committee hopes to receive proposals that will not exceed its modest budget yet yield art that is exciting, innovative and worthy of establishing the western gateway to the plaza at Mackenzie Avenue and Third Street.

The call for proposals will be appearing as an ad in the print version of The Revelstoke Current on Monday but you can see a copy of it here:
