How powerful is his mojo?

Well, in the 16 or 17 years he has been selling tickets Glen has sold five of the top prize-winning tickets to local residents. The latest was to Jeff Nicholson who won a 2010 Harley Davidson Road King, which he turned around and sold for cash.

Okay, a lot of people would have kept the bike, but Jeff never could imagine himself wearing leathers and cruising the highway a la Easy Rider.

“We were just in a coffee shop and Mauro Morrone wanted to buy a ticket from Glen so I decided I would, too,” he said.

Richardson was at the HOG get-together in Ashcroft when Nicholson’s winning ticket was drawn and he was so excited he “jumped and yelled ‘Yes!’,” he said.

“Some people thought I had won it — I was just excited for Jeff.”

Glen said the Kamloops Harley Owners’ Group’s draw is held every year to benefit medical research into Muscular Dystrophy. In the 22 years that its Harley draw has been held it has raised $758,761.37. This year it brought in $28,706.47. The group prints and sells just 3,400 tickets so “the odds are much better than 649,” he said.

I’ll say. But if you want to buy a ticket from Mr. Mojo you’ll now have to wait until February 2011.
