Anthony John (Tony) Temrick passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Saturday, May 29th, 2010 at the age of 97 years. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Revelstoke on Monday morning, June 7th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Ken Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of Mountain View Cemetery, Revelstoke. Pallbearers are members of the Knights of Pythias. Honorary Pallbearers are Tony’s grandchildren and great grandchildren: Sean, Tasha, Karri, Zack, Justice, Courtenay, Emily, Jamie and Rylie as well as his special friend Colin Bogle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Cartier Court Hospital Foundation, Bag 5000, Revelstoke, B.C. V0E 2S0, in memory of Tony.
Tony was born on May 12, 1913 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan and moved to Arrowhead in 1947 where he operated Arton’s Sawmill and then Crawford’s General Store until his move into Revelstoke in 1967. He was a 50 year member of the Knights of Pythias, as well as a member of the D.O.K.K. and Nomads. Tony loved to play bingo and was in charge of the D.O.K.K. bingo games for many years. He loved planting flowers and watching them grow in unusual areas around his yard. Tony enjoyed music and played guitar in his younger years. He loved people and was a very social man. Tony had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.
Tony was predeceased by his daughter Teresa in 1978 and his beloved wife Stella in 1995. He is survived by his son Mark (Terry Ann) of Cache Creek; grandchildren: Sean (Tammy) Temrick of Fernie, Tasha Temrick of Port Moody and Karri Hannigan (Chris Brinnen) of Kelowna; great grandchildren: Zack, Justice, Courtenay, Emily, Jamie and Rylie; sister-in-law Pauline Lee of Sturgis, Saskatchewan; nieces and nephews: Bo (Dwain) Stefiuk of Nelson, Sandy Wilhidal of Regina, Saskatchewan, Mark (Colleen) Wilhidal of Kamloops, Adrienne Hrushka of Edmonton, Lil (Terry) Tymchuk of Edmonton, Gary (Karen) Hrushka of Phoenix, Daniel Hrushka of Edmonton and his special friend Colin Bogle of Chilliwack.
