It has taken a few months — five to be exact — but Joan Maskell’s hope to see Revelstoke spotlighted on Global TV is finally going to bear fruit.
“In January I forwarded the following email to Global TV, asking them to recognize Revelstoke on their weekend program,” she said in an e-mail to The Revelstoke Current on Monday.
Her original e-mail said:
“Revelstoke is a historic town incorporated in 1899 with a population of 8,000. Situated between the Monashee and Selkirk Mountain ranges, (part of the Columbia Mountains) and on the banks of the Columbia River. Revelstoke receives the most snow of any city on theTrans Canada Highway.
“We are a mountain paradise for all seasons. From downhill sking, cat skiing, heli skiing and cross country skiing, snowmobiling, skating to mention just some of the winter activities to the warm weather when hiking, biking, boating, camping and swimming, There is something for everyone.
“We are very fortunate to live in paradise.
Now she has received a reply from Global meteorologist Kristi Gordon who said:
“Thank you for your Small Town suggestion. We are going to highlight Revelstoke this coming Sunday. Please tell your friends and family to send in one photo each to weekendnews@globaltv.com. Thanks and we’ll see you this weekend!”
