When thieves could not defeat an anti-theft device on an ATV trailer, they found a trailer that they could steal. They then returned to the original scene and stole two ATVs.
Police received the report of the stolen ATVs at 10 a.m. on May 12. The investigating officer noted attempts had been made to pry-off the anit-theft device without luck. It is believed that the thieves left the area and stole a trailer at a business located in the 700 block of Highway 23 South. The trailer is described as a 2007 Interstate box trailer.
The suspects then returned to the business in the 2400 block of Boulder Road and unloaded the two ATVs onto their stolen trailer. Security footage captured an extended cab pickup in the area at 3:05 a.m. and then the two suspects entered the compound at 3:07 a.m.
The Quads are described as being 2007 Yamaha 450s, red in colour.
