Community Connections marked a year of review and change with an Annual General Meeting where staff and supporters were assured the worst was behind them.
“The year started with Community Connections facing significant financial challenges,” said Executive Director Craig T. Brown. “The over-expenditure situation was addressed through a restructuring which resulted in streamlining the organization. We became not just financially stable but more effective with less managers and more integrated delivery of services and programs.”
A number of internal procedures and processes were overhauled or ditched and some new protocols were introduced. The organization has also developed a new strategic plan it anticipates will lead to real progress in the “provision of quality and responsive social services,” he said.

The organization also thanked departing board member Jim Cook for his eight years of service and welcomed Kendra Powell to its ranks.
