As we gear up for summertime fun, many Revelstokians have homes or enjoy the Shuswap Lake when time permits, and many use Adams Lake. While this area is not specific to Revelstoke, this is an area many locals go to enjoy some summer heat and with the May long weekend just a few weeks away, The Revelstoke Current wanted any locals to have this information.
The Brennan Creek Recreation Site on the west shore of Adams Lake remains closed to all users until further notice.
Recent geotechnical monitoring has confirmed ongoing land movement and slumping in the area.
The entire recreation site — including all campsites, day-use areas and the boat launch — is too unstable for public use, so it will remain closed indefinitely. The site will continue to be monitored.
The Adams Lake West Forest Service Road that runs above the Brennan Creek Recreation Site remains open to vehicle traffic, but all access points to the recreation site are closed. Signs are posted to notify motorists and members of the public about this closure.
